4/28/08 My friend still isn't getting a real support from our teacher's union. I don't consider holding your hand help or support. He did meet with the lawyers and it seemed that they were working for the board of eduction. There wasn't any coaching or planning. They didn't want to here what had been done incorrectly by his administration. The lawyers even cut him off when he was asked to explain different charges. He informed me over the weekend that these lawyers will not even be present when he goes before our superintendant to answer to these charges. It seems that our union dues have been a big waste of money. There are commercial policies out there just for teachers. These policy will cover you with actual lawyers that will fight for your rights. Most teacher's union are more interested in spending your money on political action and selling our addresses so they can make money on selling us loans, credits cards, magazine, etc. I get enough junk mail without having to get more from the union. The school year is winding down and I am looking foward to the summer. |
